The case against Alan and Aimee Friz of Huntingburg has been granted a change of venue.
The couple is accused of allegedly keeping their teen daughter in what’s been described as a small wooden cage with the girl’s name on it.
On October 4th last year, Alan Friz, a local dentist, called authorities reporting his “mentally retarded” child was out of control. Upon investigation the cage was found. Mr. Friz has claimed the cage was used to protect the family from the child. The couple is charged with 11 counts each of Criminal Confinement and Neglect.
Yesterday, Dubois Circuit Judge Nathan Verkamp granted a supplemental motion on a hearing for a change of venue. The action would allow the case to be moved from Dubois to Crawford County.
