Morris E. Willis, 90, of Washington, IN. went home to be with his Lord, on April 30th, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City. He was born July 14, 1927 in Pike County Indiana to Floyd Hunter Willis and Goldie Inez (Parker) Willis.
Morris was educated in the Pike county School system. He married Mary Fay (Wise) Willis, November 2, 1947. He joined the Merchant Marines during WW2. He worked 40 years for World Book Encyclopedia retiring as District Manager. He worked for Field Enterprises until 2002. He was a farmer and raised Belted Galloway cattle.
He was a member of Trinity Gospel Tabernacle where he served on an advisory board and served as a church trustee for over 50 years. He also served on the Tabernacle Camp board and was a Treasurer of Trinity Holiness Academy. He was very active in missions and went on several mission trips. He was very passionate about sharing the gospel.
He leaves behind one brother, O.W. Willis, Corydon In, one sister, Lelah Pancake, Marshall, Ill, two sons, David Willis (Karen) Washington, IN., Danny Willis (Eva) Scotland, IN, two daughters, Sharon Wright, Overland Park, KS, Carla Fay Willis-Crase, Columbus, IN, and he is survived by several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Faye, and one son, Randy Wayne Willis, sibling Inel, Marybelle Gray, Wesley, James Bassinger.
The funeral service for Morris will take place on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Gill Funeral Home 308 East Walnut St, Washington, Indiana with Rev. Robert Thompson, Rev. James Myers, and Rev. Aaron Willis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm. And Saturday May 5th, 2018 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice. Online condolences may be made to the family www.gillsince1872.com.
