Officials unveiled the renovations of Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary Schools in Vincennes last night. The work has been going on for about a year and according to the Vincennes Sun-Commercial ,those who attended the unveiling last night were quote “amazed”. Others earlier have commented online that they don’t care for the modern new look. To those comments, School Superintendent Greg Parsley says once you see the inside, what you don’t like on the outside doesn’t matter. The newspaper says Parsley was very vocal about his love for the finished project.
The trick was to connect a 100 year old building with nearby separate facilities. Before the renovations, students had to walk outside and across a street to get to some classrooms.
Architects said connecting the buildings was a challenge.
The Tecumseh-Harrison project is the 2nd Vincennes School Corporation elementary to undergo a makeover as part of a $38 million plan. Two more schools will be renovated.
