Dorothy Bernice Bullock, 94, of Loogootee, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Northwood Good Samaritan in Jasper.
She was born June 13, 1924 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late Thomas Emanuel and Mary Susan (Clements) Miles.
Bernice was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a past member of the Legion of Mary and the Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered on the funeral meal committee and enjoyed saying the rosary at local nursing homes. She graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1942.
She loved to make quilts for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, taking walks and sewing. She adored family gatherings and cooking and baking for her family. Bernice retired from Buehler’s IGA after 20 years of employment.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bullock; daughter, Patrice Bullock; grandson, Jeff Nigg; siblings, Walter Miles, Sister Margaret Irene Miles, Victor, Murl, Joe, Bernie, Charles Miles, Marie Woodruff and infant sister, Theresa Miles.
She is survived by children, Tony (Marlene) Bullock of Indianapolis, Edward Bullock of Loogootee, Ron Bullock of Indianapolis, Connie (Don) Nigg of Jasper, Patrick Bullock of Indianapolis and Mary Julia (Marty) Bradley of Loogootee; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for masses.
