Left Lane Law results in drug seizure

Putnam County—Friday afternoon at 2:30, an Indiana State Police Trooper was working along Interstate 70. The Trooper observed a black Subaru Forester traveling eastbound near the 40 mile marker in violation of the Left Lane Law, commonly referred to as the “Slowpoke Law”. The vehicle was traveling 57 mph in a posted 70 mph zone. A traffic stop was initiated and during the stop several indicators of possible criminal activity were detected.
A search of the vehicle yielded eleven pounds of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of $33,000 dollars. Also located were one ounce of suspected cannabis powder, twelve suspected controlled substance pills, and one gram of suspected methamphetamine.
