Wahneta R. Felton age 83, of Shoals, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Loogootee Nursing Center. She was born in Martin County, Indiana to Charles and Reina (Dorman) Bruner. She married Billy Sims and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1982. She married Robert Felton and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2000.
She graduated Shoals High School, was a Secretary Bookkeeper for Wm. M. Dailey Insurance Co. for 8 years, Dallas K Conalty Insurance Co for 13 years, Strawn Insurance Agency for 3 years, and served as bookkeeper for the Martin County Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Hindostan United Methodist Church where she served many years as organist and Sunday School Teacher; was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Washington and Past Noble Grand Mistress of the Rebekah Lodge.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, one son, William Charles Sims and three brothers, David Bruner, William Bruner and Charles “Bob” Bruner.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Hindostan United Methodist Church with Pastor Marty Evans officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30am until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hindostan United Methodist Church.
