Jacob James Wathen, 42, of Monticello, formerly of Loogootee, passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at IU Health in Lafayette, IN.
He was born on May 17, 1976 in Bedford, Indiana to Daniel Joseph Arvin and Barbara Elaine (Eichmiller) Wathen.
Jacob was a member of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and had a great love for animals. He had a passion for taking care of people and loved being a nurse.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Elaine Wathen and Daniel Joseph Arvin, and his uncle Donald Flinn.
Jacob is survived by; his life partner Joshua Zepada, his father Mark Wathen of Loogootee, his brother Jason (Tina) Wathen of Loogootee, his nieces and nephews; Ashlynn, Macey, and Ruger Wathen of Loogootee, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 10:00 A.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Martin County Humane Society in honor of Jacob.
