Indiana Rep. Dr. Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.) said that apology to President Donald Trump should come from political pundits on TV, and even members of the House Intelligence Committee, he says were wrong about the Mueller Report.
“The president deserves an apology and I think if the Democrats can’t come to grips with that and start talking about policy and how they want to move the American people forward and improve the quality of life in this country, then I think Pres. Trump gets re-elected in a landslide,” said Bucshon, in an interview Monday.
He said he believes the American people deserve to be able to see the Mueller Report, which he said shows no collusion by Pres. Trump or any “American citizen”.
But, he doesn’t believe Democrats want the report out there so people can read and understand it.
“It’s because the want to have lawyers on their side of the aisle to parse words and try to drum up some other dirt on the President of the United States that doesn’t exist,” he said.
Bucshon said he is okay with the idea of having Atty. Gen. William Barr and special counsel Robert Mueller testify before Congress. But, he believes Barr’s summary was not influenced by the White House, as suggested by some Democrats.
“He has an impeccable reputation in Washington, D.C. among lawyers on both sides of the aisle. And, now it’s become a partisan issue.”
Bucshon said if the Democrats don’t drop the issue and move forward, then they will look foolish and will sacrifice some of their political clout, both in DC, and with their constituents.
