Walter T. Sellers, 66, of Washington, passed away June 13, 2019, at 2:51 a.m., at Daviess Community Hospital.
He was born in Evansville on Dec. 9, 1952 to Charlene (Lents) and Paul D. Sellers. He was a member of the Washington Eagles Club, Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and was the first blind person to graduate from Vincennes University with an associate’s degree. He was also well informed on issues of government and law.
He is survived by brothers Clayton Sellers of California and David Sellers of Montana; sisters Mary McCoy of Oregon, Edith Jean McKelvey of California, Elizabeth Lancaster of Hobart; half-brothers John Sellers of Columbus, Frank Miller of Texas and Mike Sellers of Indianapolis; half-sisters Judeanne Wilson of California and Paulette Quinn of Martinsville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond Sellers, Martin Sellers and Bernard Sellers and half-brother Arvin Sellers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in Whitfield with Deacon Dennis Hildebrand officiating.
