Mid State Corridor project explained Monday night

              A marginal crowd attended the first of three meetings on a a proposed road project that would improve southwestern Indiana’s connection to Interstate 69.
         Last night at Washington High School officials gave the publican overview of the Mid-States Corridor Project and explained the road’s purpose.
        The corridor would start at the William H. Natcher Bridge crossing of the Ohio River near Rockport and run generally through the Huntingburg and Jasper area before extending north to connect to I-69.
      After going through Dubois it will connect with I69 possibly in Daviess County.   Mindy Peterson, spokesperson for the project says the project is currently in a Tier 1 Environmental Study phase.
 

         Meanwhile, Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Director Bryant Niehoff says the connector road could mean good things economically for the county….

        Another gathering is tonight at Springs Valley High School in French Lick; and Thursday at Jasper High School in Jasper.
