John Richard Lashley

John Richard Lashley, 84 of Washington, went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 20,
2019.
John was born September 16, 1935 to the late George William Lashley and Rose Jane (Gordon)
Lashley in Washington, IN. He was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. John was a
member of First Baptist Church, and loved his family dearly. He served his country in the United
States Army and was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Glendale Masonic Lodge #461
and V.F.W. John worked at McCords, and I.P.L. from which he retired in 1998. John also
enjoyed farming and being outdoors. John was a resident of Florida during the winter months
and enjoyed coming home to the family farm for the summer months.
John is survived by; his loving wife, Jane (Carr) Lashley, whom he was wed to on April 6, 1963;
daughter, Rose (Mike) Honaker; daughter, Judith Moore; and daughter-in-law, Laura Lashley;
sister, Margaret Lashley; grandchildren, Brittany Clark (Jacob), Megan Thornberry (Clay), Kayla
Hill, Nick Honaker (Alyssa), Whittney Bynum (Eric), Damon Lashley (Kiersten), Johnathan
Honaker; and great-grandchildren, Payton and Jaidyn Clark, Skylar and Taelyn Hill, Koen,
Kadalyn, Khelaria Bynum, Hailey, Hadlynn Honaker, Skylar Honaker, and Hayden Lashley.
He was preceded in death by; a son, John D. Lashley; a great-grandson, Kevden Bynum; a
brother, Bill Lashley; and a sister, Dee Lashley.
There will be a funeral service conducted by Rev. Timothy Baxter, on Thursday, September 26,
2019 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until
8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. A masonic service will
be held on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens with Military
