Gordon Glen Sneed I age 89, of Washington formerly of Noblesville, went to his heavenly home at 7:21 AM on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born November 10, 1929, in Hardy, Arkansas, to Charlie and Vasta (Burrow) Sneed. He graduated from Hardy High School in 1948 were he was proud of playing high school basketball as #4 and from there he went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He retired as a supervisor after 30 year from Firestone Rubber Plant in Noblesville. Gordon was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Washington American Legion. His great passions were fishing, hunting, playing cards with friends and enjoying quality time with his children and grandchildren.”
Because of the love of mutual friends, Bob and Wilma O’Brian, Gordon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Sneed whom he married on November 14, 1992. He is also survived by a son, Gordon Glen (Darlene) Sneed II of Chesterfield; a daughter, Pamela Grisanti of Noblesville; a grandson, Grant (Carmen) McEntire of Indianapolis; two step daughters, Tracy Ann Riester of Kentucky and Sharon Riester of Florida; four step sons, Doug (Jackie) Riester of Florida, Scott (Mary) Riester of Virginia, Brian (Shirley) Riester of Wisconsin, and Barry (Gloria) Riester of Washington; two great-grandchildren; twenty six step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Norma Lee (Cates) Sneed in 1991, whom he had married on June 17, 1952; His parents; brothers, Hayden Sneed and William ‘Bill’ Sneed; step daughter, Linda McDaniel; his mother in-law, Camilla.
Visitation will be 12 Noon till 1:45 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Washington, Indiana. Burial will be in Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana
