John J. Zins, 85, of Loogootee, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born February 7, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lorene Zins.
John loved to work. It was his favorite thing to do. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his foster parents, John and Elizabeth Matthews.
John is survived by his sons, John L. (Carolyn) Zins of Otwell, Joseph L. Zins of Loogootee, Martin A. (Angie) Zins of Loogootee and Stephen P. (Alicia) Zins of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brad Zins, Becca (Rahiem) Penn, Shelby, Peyton and Dylan Zins; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Roman Penn. Also surviving, Irene Zins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery – Barr Township.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2109 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
