The State Department of Revenue is reminding residents of 10 counties that income tax rates are increasing in those counties.
Knox County is on that list where the income tax will rise in January from 1% to 1.2%. Also Gibson County residents will see an increase from 0.7% to 0.9%.
Local income tax rates are set by county officials. County tax rates are base on an employees county of residence as of January 1, 2020.
The list of rates for all Indiana counties is available on DOR’s website in Departmental Notice #1 at www.dor.in.gov by clicking on “Legal Resources” select “Tax Library” then selecting “Departmental Notices.”
