Washington’s next mayor, David Rhoads, took the oath of office in a special ceremony in Washington’s City Council Chambers Saturday afternoon. The oath was administered by Daviess County Circuit Court Judge Greg Smith. Rhoads will officially become Washington’s 25th mayor on January 1st.
Judge Smith also administered the oath of office the City Clerk-Treasurer Beth McGookey, and City Councilmen, David Dahl, Doug Compton, and Alan Brown, who return to the Council. The judge then swore in new Councilmen, Tom Gress, Ken Showalter, Randy Emmons, and Darin Lunsford.
Rhoads then swore in the city department heads.
