Roberta Ann (Toy) Williams, 72, of Loogootee passed away on Saturday January 4, 2020 at her residence.
She was born on September 12, 1947 in Daviess County to the late Robert and Virginia (Williams) Toy.
Roberta was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Loogootee. She was a member of Tri-Kappa, Loogootee Women’s Club, St. John’s Altar Society, and President of the Daughters of Isabella. Roberta earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana State University, and a Master’s Degree at Oakland City University. She taught religion classes at St. John Parish. Roberta also taught elementary education classes for 42 years at Washington Catholic Elementary School, Rutherford Elementary, and Loogootee East Elementary. She married Gary W. Williams on July 18, 1969 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2014.
Roberta loved her family and grandkids and attending their school events. She was a Purdue athletics fan. Roberta was lovingly known as, “An Honorary Queen of Queen Street.”
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Williams, her parents; Robert and Virginia Toy, her In- laws; Walter G. and Vera (Thorne) Williams.
Roberta is survived by her children; Brian (Jennifer) Williams of Loogootee, Jacqueline (Brian) Esch of Loogootee, Brent (Carrie) Williams of Loogootee, her grandchildren; Abbie Elise Williams, Garrett Andrew Williams, Cassidy Anne Esch, Drew Thomas Williams, Madison Elizabeth Esch, Luke Michael Williams, Noah Robert Esch, Evan James Williams, Lila Marie Williams, Bailey Marie Esch, her siblings; Mike (Carol) Toy of Dale, Danny (Deena) Toy of Huntingburg, Bill (Gina) Toy of Loogootee, Kay (Mike) Summers of Loogootee, Bob (Penny) Toy of Loogootee, her special friends; Dave (Linda) Lett, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at St. John The Evangelist Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 7, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
