A man was arrested after police chase. Jasper Police say an officer saw John Hilgefort, 53, disregard a stop sign around 3:30 Saturday morning. After being stopped by the officer, Hilgefort started to drive away. He hit a mailbox near the intersection of Division and 400 West. The driver had a “brief standoff” before police took him into custody.
