Thirty people spoke at a public hearing Wednesday night concerning a proposed wind farm in Gibson County.
The RWE Renewables farm would be located near Owensville. The Gibson County Advisory Plan Commission heard comments for the farm from residents who said they were in favor of cleaner energy and the tax revenue that would be generated from the farm. Others who spoke against it said unsightly wind turbines would ruin their view around their rural homes and some say the farm could disrupt the operation of a weather station near Owensville which is vital to storm warning information.
The comments were all taken under advisement. No decision has been made to allow the wind farm in Gibson County.
