INDOT bridge work on 41 and 57 prompts changes for motorists and ag equipment

The Indiana Department of Transportation is currently conducting a rehabilitation project on bridges over the White River in Knox and Gibson Counties.  The northbound bridge has been closed and northbound traffic has been routed into the southbound lanes.  When work is done on the northbound side, they will reverse the process.
Starting Monday, INDOT says they will start changing when farmers can move their equipment across the bridge that’s being worked on.
On Monday, local farmers can move equipment wider than 13 feet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10-am Eastern and 9-am Central.  That schedule will stay in place for the remainder of the project.  State police will assist during the moves which will require a complete stoppage of traffic both north and south on 41 in that location.   Loads that are less than 13 feet wide can continue through the work zone normally without assistance.
Farmers needing to move the wide equipment need to call and alert crews of their plans.  INDOT says it’s vital for them to have an accurate count of how many pieces of equipment will be moved on each of the given days.  The number to report the move is 1-855-463-6848.
Also, starting Monday, contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation will be closing a lane on the bridge over Hannah Creek on State Road 57 near Plainville in Daviess County.  The deck of the bridge is getting resurfaced.
One lane will be open at all times and traffic will be controlled with temporary signals.  The open lane though, will be restricted to 19 feet wide.  Wider loads need to take an alternate route.  The work will continue through late August and is dependent upon weather conditions.
