You have till Thursday to request a mail-in ballot for next month’s primary. But for now, there are no plans to extend vote-by-mail to the November election. The state removed the usual limits on who can vote absentee in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Again Thursday is the deadline to request an application for a mail in ballot.
Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams says there are a couple of ways to apply
Regular polls will be open on Election Day June 2nd in Daviess County.
The state has reduced the early voting period from four weeks to one,
Early voting will start next week from 8 to 4 Tuesday through Friday at the Clerk’s office. Also Saturday May 30th the clerk’s office will be open 8 to 3. The last day to vote early is Monday June 1st from 8 to Noon.
Locally, Daviess County has two contested races on the Republican ballot. County Commissioner in District 1 Tom McCracken is opposed by challenger Ron Arnold. For County Council At-Large there are 4 Republicans running for 3 seats. Incumbents Jo Ann McCracken, Kent Norris and Mike Sprinkle and newcomer Tom Schaffer are on that ballot.
