For the first time since the shutdowns due to the pandemic, local government meetings will be open to the public tonight and tomorrow.
The Washington City Council meets at 6:30 tonight at the council chambers on Harned Avenue. The Mayor’s office says the meeting is open to 50% capacity and social distancing will be practiced. The agenda includes a presentation regarding the possibility of available housing development funding. Also, economic development officials will talk about the proposed Commons Project. Also, ordinances will be heard concerning funding for the wastewater treatment plant improvement project. Tomorrow at 9 the Daviess County Commissioners will meet at the commissioner’s room in the courthouse. On their agenda are project updates on the Annex and in the Highway Department. A report from the county solid waste department; an inter-local agreement concerning animal control and policy and procedures for courthouse operations as it will soon opening up more to the public.
