The Daviess County Commissioners hired a new Solid Waste District Director today. Lee Spaulding, who was the director recently passed away.
Mike Myers with the District explained that Spaulding was always looking forward and was grooming Bob Ochs a landfill operator as a possible replacement for him. Myers says there were two applicants for the position and Ochs was the only candidate with the required qualifications and the only candidate interviewed.
On the recommendation of the District, Ochs was hired effective today and will be paid an annual salary of $62,712.
