Julia Adelyne (McKee) Kent

Julia Adelyne (McKee) Kent, 94, of Washington, formerly of Sandborn, Indiana, went to heaven peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2020, at The Legends Village in Washington. She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Petersburg, Indiana, to Claud Ale and Augusta “Gussie” (Carrico) McKee. Adelyne married the love of her life, Ned B. Kent, on Dec. 19, 1948.
Adelyne was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association and was a lifetime member of the Sandborn Baptist Church. Sewing, painting, writing, and crafting were her hobbies. Adelyne enjoyed touching lives by being a school teacher and principal at North Knox East before she retired in 1986.
Family left to cherish the memories of Adelyne include her husband, Ned B. Kent; two sons, Jeffrey A. (Mary) Kent of Wheaton, Illinois, and Mark A. (Marilyn) Kent of Williams, Indiana; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Todd) Anderson, Joshua Kent, Jessica Kent, Ben (Emily) Kent, and Amanda “Mandy” (Brent) Saucermen; great-grandchildren Luci and Axel Anderson, Reece Kent and Monroe Saucerman.
Adelyne is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Rex, Thurman, Claude and Eugene McKee.
Graveside services to honor the life of Adelyne will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Sandborn Cemetery, with Rev. Phil Kessen officiating. A time of gathering of friends and family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
There will be no public viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Baptist Church,
