Last night the Washington City Council heard Daviess County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Bryant Niehoff give an update on the proposed Washington Commons project on Main Street. Niehoff said the open-air, roofed events center would be located In the area of the Jay Myers parking lot and the old Hayes Motor Supply building. Niehoff said the project would be funded by a collaboration between the City, County, DCEDF, and private sources. Niehoff said the completed project would become a new city park. The City Council members voted unanimously to support the project.
Mayor David Rhoads said the Commons is a good project for Washington and all of Daviess County
