Norbert E. Steiner

Norbert E. Steiner, 69, of Jasper, passed away at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
He was born October 2, 1950 in Washington, Indiana to the late Paul and Anna (Worland) Steiner.
Norb loved hunting, fishing and woodworking, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family. His favorite pastime was watching the weather and birds.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He worked in various coal mines for 33 years as a heavy equipment operator and ended his career at Solar Sources.
Norb was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anna (Worland) Steiner; sister, Martha Steiner; brother-in-law, James Fulkerson.
He is survived by his wife, Liz Steiner of Jasper; children, Janella (Mike) Kellermeier of Indianapolis, Michelle Mason of Jasper and Paul (Ashley) Steiner of Loogootee; grandchildren, Madelyn and Makayla Fromme; siblings, Robert (Beth) Steiner of North Vernon, Madonna (Ed) Hankee of Indianapolis, Mary Francis Fulkerson of Mooresville, Paul V. Steiner of Montgomery, Tony (Monica) Steiner of Washington, Regina (Kent) Wininger of Washington, Barbara (John) Durnil of Noblesville, Betty Riley of Dayton, Ohio, Mariann (Gabe) Mehringer of Newburgh and Virginia Quillen of Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
