Susan Marie Colvin

Susan Marie Colvin, 64, of Indianapolis, formerly of Loogootee, passed to her eternal reward on August 15, 2020 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born November 19, 1955 in Washington, Indiana to the late Ernest and Catherine (Strange) Colvin.
Susan attended St. John’s Elementary School, Loogootee High School class of 1973, and was a 1977 graduate of Indiana State University. She was a member of St. Pius X Parish in Indianapolis.
She started her work career at Loogootee Home Outfitters before moving to Indianapolis and eventually started her own successful business, Susan Colvin Interiors, in 1991.  Susan was a long-time member of the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Interior Design and was a registered designer in the state of Indiana. She participated for 24 years in the Decorator Showhouse for St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild. As time permitted, she also volunteered for the Read Up program at an Indianapolis Public School and participated in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She had a love for antiques, camping and all animals.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by nine siblings, Larry Colvin and David (Millie) Colvin, both of Indianapolis; Ed Colvin and Patricia Colvin, both of Bloomington, Steve Colvin of Evansville, Barbara (Ryad) Hamzeh of Arlington, Texas, Mary Kay Colvin, Gene Colvin, and Rick Colvin, all of Loogootee. Susan also had eight nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Larissa (Jonathan) Sosa, Ryan (Aubrey) Hamzeh and Matt Hamzeh, all of Arlington, Texas, Katie Colvin, Holly Colvin and Mackenzie Colvin, all of Bloomington, Walter Colvin and Sarah Colvin, both of Indianapolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local humane society in honor of Susan.
