Lavon Boyd, 78, of Newburgh, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her residence.
She was born December 18, 1941 in Knox County, Indiana to Corbin and Gladys Mae (Merrill) Doades.
Lavon worked for Bristol Meyers as a machine operator and was graduate of USI with a degree in child psychology. A member of the Grace Baptist Church, she enjoyed sewing, traveling, and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children Cheryl Ashby and her husband William of Chrisney, IN, and Scott Boyd and his wife Monique of Cleveland, TN; a son in-law Stephen Harvey of Lawrenceville, IL; her brothers and sisters Vickie Wathen of Wheatland, Nellie Jane Goodrich of Vincennes, Leon Doades of Vincennes, Barbara Frederick of Decker, Emily Goodrich of Alabama, Danny Doades of Odon, Roger Doades of Vincennes, Carol Doades of Vincennes, and Kenneth Doades of Vincennes; her grandchildren Ashley Blocher, Mhegan Harvey, Stephanie Woodworth, Sonya Schiff, Zachery Ashby, Billy Ashby, Michael Boyd, Jayson Boyd, Alexa Boyd, Gillienne Boyd, Sophia Boyd, Edward Couvillion, and Aiden Boyd; along with 20 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband Thomas Pullen Boyd who died on September 11, 2016; a daughter Jacqueline Mae Harvey who died on May 19, 2011; infant son Tommy Boyd; two sisters Mary Caughran and Shirley George; and an infant brother Larry David Doades.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Pete White officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes.
