Indiana University is making a big change on campus. IU President Michael McRobbie said Thursday that the school will remove the name of their very first president, David Starr Jordan, from several on campus locations. This includes the biology building, the east parking garage, the Jordan River, and several other locations. The decision came after backlash emerged of Jordan’s past. A committee report detailed Jordan’s apparent past as a white supremacist and influential eugenicist who promoted racism.
