Indiana’s senior senator, Todd Young, is not optimistic that Congress will be able to secure a COVID relief bill any time soon. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi this week set a deadline of Tuesday for Congress to be able to get a relief bill to the president’s desk before Election Day. No such bill has been brought forth or passed. Still, Young said lawmakers will keep trying to hammer out a deal. He says he’s hopeful for some “bipartisan help this go-round”, but also reiterated that he is not optimistic that will happen.
