We have two teams state bound this weekend in high school Volleyball as the Barr Reeve Lady Vikings and Loogootee Lady Lions each captured semi state victories on Saturday at Jasper.

In the 1A semi state, Loogootee cruised on to the final match with a straight set win over Hauser 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.  The Lady Lions are now 31-5 and will face Pioneer for the championship.  Pioneer comes in at 29-3.  Match time is 10:30am Saturday morning.
In the 2A semi state, Barr Reeve advanced to the State finals with a 25-14, 17-25, 29-27, 25-22 win over Heritage Christian at Jasper.  Barr Reeve is now 34-3 and will face Wapahani who comes in to the final match at 28-5.  The 2A championship will get underway at 1:30pm on Saturday.  You can hear both games on Memories 107.9 / and the General 95.9 / 101.3 / AM 1580 and worldwide at www.wamwamfm.com
The Washington Hatchets Football team will compete for a sectional championship this Friday night as they advanced with a big win on the road at Edgewood 32-16.  Washington’s Trey Reed became the first Hatchet to record 1000 yards rushing a 1000 yards passing in his high school career with a big break out night.  The Hatchet defense was also solid leading to the win.  Next up for Washington a trip to Sullivan for the championship on Friday.  The Hatchets are 5-6, while Sullivan comes in at 8-3.  Catch live coverage starting at 6:40pm Friday night on Memories 107.9fm.

Evansville Mater Dei eliminated the North Knox Warriors from the Football sectionals in the semi finals winning 30-19.  Mater Dei will now face Linton for the 2A championship this Friday.

The Washington Hatchet Wrestling team will start practices beginning today. The first meet is November 28th.   Any incoming Freshman thru Senior wanting to wrestle and not involved in a Fall sport should report today.   The team will meet Mondays and Wednesdays in the weight room from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and then the Lena Dunn Wrestling room from 5 to 6:30pm.  Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday practice will be at Lena Dunn from 4 to 6:30pm, and Saturdays from 9 to 11am at Lena Dunn thru Thanksgiving week.

In the NFL, the Colts grabbed a win at Motor City in Detroit, while the Bears lose a heartbreaker in overtime.  The Colts controlled the game and defeated the Detroit Lions 41 to 21.

The Bears drove the Saints to overtime in New Orleans, but could not grab the win as the Saints hit a field goal and walked away with a 26 to 23 win.

Sunday night Football last night, The Cowboys continue to struggle as they lost at Philly 23 to 9 to the Eagles.

The Steelers remain unbeaten as they stole one from the Ravens 28 to 24

The Patriots continue to struggle losing to the Bills 24 to 21

The Chiefs covered the huge spread and beat the Jets 35 to 9
