The 4-year veteran made the announcement yesterday one day after revealing the diagnosis on social media. Sanchez says he was overwhelmed by the love and support he received.

Notre Dame Football has made history officially booking an ACC Championship game appearance in its first season as a conference member. The Fightin Irish will play December 19th in Charlotte with a chance to not only play their way into a college football playoff but also clinch their first conference championship in program history. Notre Dame had two games left on their schedule this weekend against Syracuse, and December 12th vs Wake Forest, but the latest adjustments from the ACC on the league schedule has now removed the Wake Forest game. Clemson’s season will also wrap up on Saturday against Virginia Tech. The ACC says the adjustments were made to preserve the integrity of the ACC Championship Football game by evaluating each of the three teams in contention, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Miami based on a nine game conference schedule instead of 10. Miami is scheduled to play Duke on Saturday, and North Carolina December 12. The Hurricanes need Clemson to lose at Virginia Tech to keep their hopes alive.
