At last nights City Council meeting, Council members re-elected Councilman Alan Brown as President Pro-Tempore. They also approved the Mayor’s appointment of David Dahl and Anita Ash as members of the Board of Public Works and Safety. The Council also approved Mayor Rhoads as the City’s representative on the Southern Indiana Development Corporation Board.
Mayor Rhoads also told the Council that the City was taking bids on the property located at 9 S.E. 15th Street. The city owns the property and is looking to sell it. The Mayor said neighbors have expressed an interest in buying the lot. Mayor Rhoads also said that CSX has sent a list of 12 crossings that they will be repairing. He stated the railroad will begin work around March 1st. In addition, the Mayor said that Phase 3 of the old U.S. 50 project will get underway in the fall of 2022 with some work on electrical infrastructure. The main work on the final phase of the project will begin in the spring of 2023 and will be finished in 2024.
