The latest Republican spending plan before the Indiana Statehouse would spend more money on schools, expanding school choice, and raise the price of cigarettes. Republicans unveiled their budget proposal yesterday, which includes a nearly four percent increase in funding for public schools in the state, as well as an expansion of Indiana’s voucher program. The proposal also would add 50 cents to Indiana’s cigarette tax, and create a new tax on vaping liquids.
