All area schools, Washington, Washington Catholic, Barr-Reeve, Loogootee, North Daviess, and Pike Central are closed today. Students at Washington, and Barr-Reeve, are on e-learning status today.
Out-patient physical therapy at the CORE Centers in Washington and the North Daviess area are closed today. Also, the DCH Quick Care clinic is closed today.
The Daviess County Health Department has announced that due to the snow and extremely cold weather conditions, COVID-19 Vaccinations scheduled for today have been cancelled and have been rescheduled. Vaccinations will resume, as scheduled, on Tuesday.
In Knox County, the Knox County Health Department moved up scheduled COVID-19 vaccines to Saturday. Anyone scheduled for a vaccine with the Knox County Health Department Monday or Tuesday is asked to go to the Community United Methodist Church on Hart Street in Vincennes between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 to get their shot.
Vincennes University has cancelled all face-to-face instruction for Monday, February 15. Remote learning will be used, where applicable. VU offices will operate on a normal schedule and staff are encouraged to work directly with their supervisors to determine if remote working can be accommodated. Vincennes University Staff members are encouraged to monitor MyVU and other appropriate channels as conditions may change.
There will be no Meals on Wheels or pick-up meals at the Family and Senior Services Center in Washington today.
In addition to weather related closings…today is also Presidents’ Day, and all Washington City and Daviess County government offices are closed today. The City of Washington will not collect trash today….Washington residents with Monday trash collections should have their trash ready to be picked up by 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. The Washington recycling center and the Daviess County Landfill are also closed today. The Washington Carnegie Public Library, the U.S. Postal Service, the License Branch, the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, RSVP and the PACE Community Action Agency are all closed today.
