Railroad crossing in Washington closing for replacement

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced a complete closure for a railroad crossing on State Road 57 in Washington. Beginning on or around Monday, March 1, crews with CSX will begin a project to replace the railroad crossing in Washington between Railroad Street and East South Street. Work is expected to last for about four days depending upon weather conditions. During the closure, local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all traffic should use the official detour following U.S. 50, I-69, and S.R. 58. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
