Indiana State Police are warning Hoosiers to be aware of high water on roadways due to rapid snow melt. State Police say you should never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. Doing so can quickly cause vehicles engine to stall, rendering the vehicle disabled. Often times heavy currents will then lift and drift the vehicle off the roadway into deeper water, creating a potentially life threatening situation. Hoosier motorists should expect to see continued conditions of high water on roadways as the rapid snow melt continues. State Police say use caution and good judgement when driving in areas known for high water.
