Von Jay Shake, 88, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his residence. Von was born on May 29, 1932 in Burns City, Indiana to Emerson Albert and Viola Grace (Kinnamin) Shake. Von married Fae (Terrell) Shake on June 7, 1952.
Von was a member of the Bunkem United Methodist Church and served on the Daviess County Fair Board with 40+ years over the sheep barn. He was a butcher at Bloomfield and Odon Lockers and was a sheep shearer for many years.
Family left to cherish the memory of Von include: his wife, Fae Shake; three sons, Perry (Carla) Shake of Bloomington, Damon Shake of Odon and Kevin (Angie) Shake of Plainville; one daughter, Cindy (Dave) Stamback of Odon; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Carter of Bloomington and Grace Carrico of Odon.
Von was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Shake and his wife Kathy; one grandson, two granddaughters, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Jim Pieper officiating. Von will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 18 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
