Odon Moves to Nonpartisan Town Elections

No Republicans or Democrats will be running for town offices in Odon after a recent decision.
The Odon Town Board has voted to make all future town elections non-partison.   That means candidates will not file as a Republican or Democrat.   According to a report in the Odon Journal, this change simply codifies past practice in the Odon area.  For several years, candidates in Odon has simply filed for office as independents, which meant elections were not political and individuals working as civil servants at Crane could run for office.  Under the Federal Hatch Act, federal government employees barred from running in partisan elections.
