A person has been charged in connection to a fatal accident in Dubois County.
On April 19, 2021, the Dubois County Prosecutor filed charges on Joann T. Voelkel due to a months-long investigation by State Police in reference to a fatal accident that occurred last year.
The accident claimed the life of Ruth A. Meyer.
The crash occurred on County Road 675 North, west of Portersville Rd on October 16th of 2020 around 6:35 PM.
Voelkel was traveling westbound on CR 675 North when she went left of center into the eastbound lane, hitting Ruth Meyer, who was entering the roadway on her lawnmower.
Ruth A. Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the crash.
Voelkel has been charged with one count of Reckless Driving.
