Congratulations to Hagen Knepp from Barr Reeve, Jaylen Mullen from North Daviess, and Peyton Bledsoe from Loogootee who were all selected to participate in the IBCA Top 100 Underclassman Showcase at Ben Davis High School.  The players will be involved in controlled drills and scrimmage games throughout the day.

The Washington Softball game against South Knox scheduled for last night will be played tonight at the Sports Complex.  First pitch is set for 6pm.
The Washington baseball game at Forest Park last night will now be played tomorrow morning at 11am.
The NFL Draft on ESPN has finally arrived. Jacksonville Jaguars scooped up quarterback Trevor Lawrence from Clemson with their No. 1 overall pick. New York Jets went on to pick quarterback Zach Wilson from Brigham Young. Then San Francisco 49ers selected quarterback Trey Lance from North Dakota State.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Michigan defensive end Kwity Paye (QWIT-tee PAY) with the 21st overall pick in the NFL Draft Thursday night. The 6-foot-4, 261-pound Paye played just four games for the Wolverines last season, but was selected second team All-Big Ten after compiling 16 tackles, including four tackles for loss with two sacks. As a junior in 2019, he recorded 6.5 sacks. Paye was born in a refugee camp in Guinea amid a civil war in Liberia, and was named after his maternal grandfather, who was killed in the war. Paye and his family immigrated to Providence, Rhode Island when he was six months old and Paye was the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year as a high school senior.
Kevin Durant scored 42 points and the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Indiana Pacers 130-113 Thursday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers are already dealing with a depleted roster due to injuries, and Malcolm Brogdon left the game with a hamstring injury in the first half and did not return.
The Chicago Cubs’ offense bounced back with a 9-3 win over the Atlanta Braves to avoid a four-game sweep and snap a five-game skid. Seven Cubs drove in runs, including former Brave Jason Heyward, who drove in a pair. In St. Louis, the Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 in 10 innings on a walk-off wild pitch.
