Two locals will compete at the Track and Field State Finals this weekend at Ben Davis High School. Abby Ballengee from Barr Reeve will participate in pole vault, while Kalea Fleming of Loogootee will compete in the high jump. Best of luck at state this weekend.
13 boys golf teams begin sectional play this morning at the Country Club of Old Vincennes. All four Daviess and Knox County Schools will play along with Pike Central, Gibson Southern, Princeton, Tecumseh, and Wood Memorial. Tee time is set for 9am today. Good luck to our local teams.
Good luck to Loogootee Baseball and Softball tomorrow. Softball competes at the North Daviess semi-state Saturday morning against West Washington at 11am. Baseball plays in the Regional at Lanesville against Tecumseh at 9:30am on Saturday.

Jesse Winker connected on a two-run home run, and the Cincinnati Reds held on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 at Busch Stadium. Winker’s homer in the second gave the visitors a 3-2 lead that would stand pat until the eighth inning, when Brownsburg native Tucker Barnhart extended the lead with an RBI double. Vladimir Gutierrez picked up his first career victory after giving up two runs over five innings. The series continues Friday night in St. Louis.
