Dale A. McCrary, 84, of Petersburg, IN went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2021. He was born on November 1, 1936 to Rufus M. McCrary and Christine S. Belcher McCrary. Dale started working on a farm at age 12. He graduated from Monroe City High School in 1954. He was drafted into the Army while working at Brown Shoe Factory in Vincennes in 1956. He was honorably discharged in Feb. 1961. He married Ruby on March 9, 1961 and went back to farming. He worked at Whirlpool in Evansville for 20 years and then at Indianapolis Power and Light until his retirement in December 2001. He was active in Church as song leader, Sunday school, and Bible Teacher.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Ruby (Hill) McCrary of 60 years; daughters, Lori (Mark) Deffendoll, Marla (Shane) Raley, and Melinda (Dana) Wright; grandchildren, Krystle (Aaron) Barrett, Kelsey (Tyler) Messer, Cheyenne Mapes, Dakota (Bailey) Raley, Brandon (Liz) Benton, and Gracie Wright; great grandchildren, Draven, Mason, Jayden, Wyatt, Landon, Layton, Hannah, Braxton, Brantley, and Ayla.
Services for Dale will take place at 2 PM EST on Friday, June 11, at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church at 5004 S. Monroe School Rd. in Monroe City, IN with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Reverends Robert Russell and Kevin Benton will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
