The Daviess County Board of Commissioners heard from the Daviess County Health Department yesterday.
Health Department officials reported that they will be taking over COVID vaccine billing from the state starting July 1st.
They also noted that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have raised the cost of the COVID Vaccine administrative fee to $40.
The Daviess County Health Department will now charge insurance $40 for any of the three vaccines – that’s Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer.
Daviess County Health Nurse Kathy Sullender reported that they have a “hardship” policy in place for those with no insurance.
With this policy in place, individuals with no insurance can receive the shot for free.
In addition, Health Department officials reported that they have about $80,000 coming in from the state to continue funding COVID Vaccine Operations.
