No word yet on when a judge will decide if Governor Holcomb can sue the state legislature using outside counsel.
Attorney General Todd Rokita argued Thursday that the new law allowing lawmakers to call themselves into special session, in order to check the governor, is constitutional.
Governor Holcomb is challenging the law, and is asking the court to allow him to hire private attorneys to do so.
Rokita is supposed to be the state’s official lawyer, but in this case, he agrees with lawmakers not the governor.
The judge isn’t expected to issue any rulings in the case until sometime next month.
