Purdue announced Wednesday that Ross-Ade Stadium will be open to 100 percent capacity this fall for Boilermaker football games. The move comes less than a week after IU announced that none of the Hoosiers’ fall sports will have capacity limits. Holloway Gymnasium will not have any capacity limits for Purdue volleyball this fall as well, and a decision on Boilermaker basketball at Mackey Arena is expected in the near future, according to the school.
Jonathan Schoop homered once again and the Detroit Tigers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2 at Comerica Park to win their third win in a row. Schoop drove in a two-run double in the third which tied the game at 2, and Daz Cameron broke the tie in the fourth with a solo shot to left field. Schoop connected on a solo home run in the fifth, which was his 10th long ball of the month. St. Louis has lost five of six and 16 of 22. The Cardinals return to St. Louis to start a seven-game homestand, beginning with an NL Central series against the Pirates.
The Chicago White Sox snapped a season-long, five-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Chicago is off today before hosting Seattle starting Friday. The White Sox are 44-30 and lead the AL Central by 2.5 games.

The 70-year-old is known for opening up his furniture store as shelters during environmental crises like Katrina and the massive Texas freeze. He bet $2-million bucks that the Astros will win the world series. The payout would be $22 million. It would be the biggest reported potential payout in U.S. sports betting history.
Mets stud first baseman Pete Alonso is returning to the Homerun Derby. He won it in 2019. There was no derby in 2020, so the 26-year-old is technically still the defending champ. He told reporters he had so much fun the last time around, choosing to do it again was a no-brainer.
