Kenneth Selby

Kenneth Selby, 61, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:33 am Saturday June 26, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital and was the son of William Selby and Mary (Robinson-Selby)  Stines.

Surviving are his wife Cynthia (Raiford) Selby of 21 years; his five step sisters Patricia (Stines)Davenport of NY, Diane  (Stines)Arthur of NY, Lisa (Stines)Kennedy of NY, Shirley Stines of NY and Sarah (Stines) Rainey  and a step brother David Stines of NY. And many cousins and family that he had grown to love.

Preceding him in death by his father, William Selby and mother, Mary (Selby) Stines; brother, Kevin Selby, step father Emmitt Stines Sr; step brother Emmitt Stines Jr.

Born in Brooklyn, New York graduated from Copiague High School also finished a program at American Institute of Banking; although he Lived in Houston and Pasadena,  Texas for 21 years. He came to visit Cynthia from the heart of Texas, and they got married and  made Vincennes their home. Ken worked at Emerson Electric in Princeton and then from 2002 -2021, he worked at the Southwest Indiana Youth Village. Ken truly loved his job because he was interested in the youth at risk and the chins kids. He built an excellent relationship with those in the E unit and wanted to make a difference in their lives. Ken was a quiet man but occasionally related an experience about his coworkers or the youth. What Ken loved most was when he was asked a bible question! All came to know that Ken was one of Jehovah Witnesses since 1978. His greatest love was Jehovah God. Maybe you saw Ken walking and received a Bible track from him, or while shopping he may have initiated a bible conversation Ken endeavored to share the comfort message of the Bible and Jesus Christ promises. Ken also enjoyed writing people who needed comfort. Most of all Len loved volunteering with the local Vincennes Christian Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Ken attended Bible Education Training classes in Texas in 1984, Evansville  in 2005, and Washington in 2015. Those who knew Ken well, remembers how he didn’t want to call attention to himself, therefore Respecting Ken’s wishes there will be not be any type of funeral services. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Kenneth Selby.
