A black bear was seen about a week ago in Warrick County and more have popped up over the last few days.
The latest sightings were reported in Pike and Daviess Counties.
On Thursday, there were several social media reports of a bear in Alford just east of Petersburg.
DNR says they heard the reports, but could provide no confirmation.
A video emerged Friday of a black bear running in a field near Cannelburg.
Paw prints, scat, and scattered trash were also found in the White Oak area of Pike County.
DNR says more sightings can be expected with the expanding bear population in neighboring states.
They say it’s best to remove attractants from your yard to help avoid human/bear interactions.
