The Daviess-Martin County REMC is warning customers of a phone scam.
Members have reported receiving phone calls notifying them that if they did not make a payment immediately, their electric service would be disconnected within 30 minutes.
REMC Officials say this is NOT an authorized representative of the Daviess-Martin REMC.
The caller claims to be from Duke Energy, but no confirmation can made nor is the Daviess-Martin REMC affiliated with Duke Energy.
Officials say do NOT participate in these calls and do not give the caller any of your banking or credit card information.
