There is a telephone scam going around.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita says scammers are calling Hoosiers pretending to be utility customer service representatives.
They tell the person to make a payment by threatening to cut off power or other utility services “within thirty minutes of receiving the call.”
In some instances, the scammer reportedly asks for payment to be dropped off at a kiosk or a laundry mat.
If you get a call like this, Rokita urges you to just hang up.
