Power company AES Indiana (formally Indianapolis Power & Lights) has plans for Pike County.
AES Indiana plans to build a solar and energy storage facility in Petersburg.
The project would be connected to the existing Petersburg Generating Station and would power the equivalent of 45,000 homes during peak hours.
The project must be approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission before work can begin.
